Triathlon Group’s Industrial Report 2023/24
Triathlon Group's annual industry report (Verkstadsrapporten) shows a strong top-line growth during 2022 for Swedish and West Swedish manufacturing companies. Despite growing top-line, West Swedish companies express concerns regarding the possibility of passing on increased cost, which is expected to lead to reduced profitability.
Revenues continue to rise
Manufacturing companies had a strong top-line growth during 2022, but the survey reveal that western Swedish manufacturing companies are more cautious about the coming years. During 2022 the number of employees increased, and companies are experiencing difficulties in finding the right competence.
Increased costs affects profitability
Despite sales growth, the margins are shrinking. In contrast to the survey responses in the 2022/2023 report, this year the companies express that it is difficult to pass on increased costs to the customer. As a result of the increased costs and the current economic and external situation, the manufacturing companies are uncertain regarding future profitability.
Regulatory requirements puts focus on sustainability
This year's survey indicates that the manufacturing companies see higher legislative pressure. The companies highlight the work with sustainability regulations as particularly demanding and in the suvery, 74 percent of the companies respond that they will increase their investments in activities that reduce the company's climate footprint.
